Independent Music Collaborative of Central Minnesota

Our Vision

The vision of the Independent Music Collaborative of Central Minnesota (IMCCM) is to advocate for Central Minnesota musicians and diverse audiences by providing both conventional and unconventional spaces to create, perform, and experience original music.
Access to original music in the community is influenced by many factors, including socioeconomic status, age, gender, and race. IMCCM is committed to promoting fair treatment and compensation for musicians while also providing opportunities to educate and engage the diverse audiences within our community.

Project 37

Project 37 is a branch of the non-profit Independent Music Collaborative of Central Minnesota (IMCCM), dedicated to providing safe, sober, all-ages spaces for people to enjoy, perform, and connect over original music.
Since 2022, Project 37 has organized dozens of concerts, from punk nights to singer/songwriter showcases, giving local bands and emerging artists a chance to perform in welcoming venues.
Their long-term goals include establishing a permanent downtown St. Cloud venue, offering music classes, production workshops, community events, and continuing to support musicians and audiences who value creativity, inclusivity, and sober social spaces.

B-Side Indie Music Cafe

B-Side Indie Music Cafe

B-Side Indie Music Cafe is a nonprofit coffee shop and music venue in downtown St. Cloud (at 27 7th Avenue North), operated by IMCCM in partnership with Project 37 and the Common Roots Festival.
It provides a permanent, all-ages, sober venue where local artists can perform and community members can gather, helping realize the goal of a welcoming space for independent music and community connection.
B-Side hosts a variety of events, from live music shows to songwriting rounds and open-mic nights, offering opportunities for artists to grow and for audiences to experience original music in a safe, inclusive environment.

Common Roots Festival

Common Roots Festival is a community-driven celebration of grassroots talent, local businesses, and original music, held annually in downtown St. Cloud, MN.
Each year, the festival transforms downtown with multiple venues (bars, restaurants, streets, small stages), offering a wide variety of live performances and unique local art.
Common Roots aims to support downtown’s vibrant independent-music scene by spotlighting area performers, connecting local businesses and audiences, and fostering community through shared creative experiences.
